E3 Visa Query - dual intent
Hi all,
I was originally born in Singapore and migrated to Australia when I was 9 which then I gained Australian citizenship and lived there for 18 years - got my bachelors degree (Bachelor of Engineering) and worked for 5 years as a Software Engineer before moving to the UK. Since then i've established my life in the UK and have been here for nearly 9 nears and continued working as a Software Engineer
I'm thinking of embarking on the next adventure which is to look for work in the US. Do you think my current situation would portray a dual intent for the E3 visa? I don't own property at all as assets are mostly invested in shares (buying property in London is expensive!)
Any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks

Re: E3 Visa Query - dual intent
I don't quite get the question, you've got to have a job offer to get an LCA and you need an LCA to get the visa. Dual-intent is academic. Even for the categories that aren't dual intent eligible (and E-3 is), it makes little difference, it simply means you've got to have enough time left on your status while your I-140 is processed which used to be a big deal 20 years ago but not now as USCIS is pretty efficient.
Bear in mind if you've still got Singaporean citizenship you can also go for H-1B1, quite a good position to be in actually as you'd almost certainly get in under the quota for H-1B1 or E-3.
