E2 Visa interview booking process

Hello.

My husband and I have applied for an E2 visa. Our paperwork has been reviewed and we have been invited to interview. However, when we try to book the interview on the online systems all dates for the foreseeable future are greyed out. When I call the designated number to book an interview over the telephone the operator tells me that there are no appointments available and that new appointments will be released 'in the next couple of days'.

No one on the phone (have called on three separate days) deviated from the above. They cannot tell me why the dates are greyed out (despite the Embassy at London quoting 9 calendar days wait for an interview of our type), or exactly when dates will be released, just to keep logging on to check or to call again the next day.

My question is, is anyone else experiencing this or is it unique to our case? Incidentally I asked them this question too and they would neither confirm nor deny this.

The closing date for the business we have purchased is fast approaching and, as you can imagine, this situation is extremely frustrating.

Thanks

Lisa

Just to clarify, you're not actually talking to anyone at the US Consulate. You're talking to 3rd-party contractors on the help line in Scotland. They don't deviate because they're reading from a script.

They don't actually know.

It has nothing to do with your specific case. This is SOP. Dates are released periodically and you really do just have to check often. That's what everyone has to do. One strategy that sometimes works is to check in the middle of the night... it's when the booking system is least busy.

Of course not - they aren't allowed to.

Thanks for your reply Ian. Yes, aware they are a 3rd party. Slightly reassured that it's not just us. Was feeling paranoia starting to set in! Thanks for the tip about checking during the night.
