E2 VISA - I want to quit my job. Is there a grace period?
Hi Everyone,
I am a British citizen on an E2 visa in the US. I really don't enjoy my job and therefore want to head back to my home, the UK.
Once I quit my job, do I need to leave the US immediately or is there a grace period which allows me to stay in the US legally for a period of time so I can pack up my apartment/belongings etc.
Can't seem to find a concrete answer online anywhere!
Would appreciate advice!!! Thankyou so much in advance!

I don't believe there is a definitive grace period, no. That being said, you won't get in trouble if you take a short amount of time to wrap up your life in the USA. Don't go taking a holiday around the US or anything, just work as fast as possible to get your affairs in order in the USA before leaving.

Added to Noorah's reply, since you are aware that you will be leaving (you've not been terminated), start wrapping things up now before handing in your notice. Do your packing for shipment if you are taking anything back, give your notice on your lease that you will be terminating in x number of days, etc. Often when you give notice they show you the door the same hour.
