Will that suffice?
Your employer should run this by their immigration attorney; they will have a better idea of meeting criteria for a specialist occupation.

Thanks Retzie.

E3 only / Lucy, if you were to go to Canada, could you go to Vancouver or does it have to be Montreal?

Hi travislogue - I could go to Vancouver. Is it easier there vs Montreal or Toronto? I know the wait times for Vancouver are ALOT shorter!

Awesome. I will to. Submitting by LCA tomorrow, hoping to book the Vancouver appointment for week of December 7th! I thought I may have read somewhere Montreal is the only place in Canada we can go to, but obviously not

This is certainly true for family-based visas but not, I think, for employment-based visas.

You realise the consulate advises people not to get their initial E-3 in Canada? A lot of people here are posting about a renewal or new employer, ie. already have been granted an E-3 in the past.

Oh darn, it's so much more expensive and time consuming to go back to Oz. If it were declined, would I need to amend the dates on my LCA and go to Oz?

Mexico City would be the safest/cheapest option from LA then I'm assuming for a first E-3, coming off a J1

If it's declined, you may be stuck not being allowed back in the States.

I haven't been keeping up with the good/bad options for other locations. Have a read back through the past several pages of this thread, as it is often discussed.

My J1 visa permits me multiple entries and to stay 30 days not working after the expiry of my working visa. I was planning on going to Canada the last week of my working visa.

Thanks Retzie. I'll look backwards.

Just remember you can't re-enter during that grace period. Stay, yes; leave and return, no.

+1 I did renewals in Vancouver...and 2x new E3s, including my first, in Sydney.

It may be expensive to travel all the way back there but dang it, for the piece of mind...worth it. We have family and friends there, so it's a no brainer from that perspective.

Thanks Retzie. If I don't do Australia, I'll be sure to fly back into the US before my visa expiry (not in the grace period) and then go to Australia and do it

Hi all - another question from me. If complete my DS-160 online for applying in Canada, am I then able to schedule my appointment for a different country (e.g. UK) if the wait time for Canada is too long? This website seems to indicate it is possible:
