Default DV-2005 Winners interview dates...

My father won the DV-2005 lottery. He received his initial letter on
May 24th. He sent back the required information in about two weeks to
the Visa Center and has not heard anything since then. Has any DV-2005
winners received their interview dates yet? Do you think he can still
receive it or shall we give up hoping for an interview date?

Thanks in advance for any input.

Unal.

depending on his case number (less than 3,000), he may already have an interview date. Please call or email KCC with his case #, date of birth and a full name information. Usually, people selected for an interview get the second packet about 2-3 weeks before the interview date. Of course, they should have all the required docs ready by then. 3 weeks is not enough to get all of them ready.

Thanks for the input.

The initial package said not to contact KCC for an interview date. Do
you know anyone who contacted them for interview dates? I am worried
that asking may make them upset and cancel his application. Also, do
you know how many cases are handled each month?

Do you know what forms /docs are needed for the interview? The initial
package does not list what is needed in the interview.

Thanks for any response,
Unal.

Yes, I know lots of people who contacted KCC for an interview date, including myself. I called every month, after the 15th of the month, when our case number became current (It became current in March, interview was in April).

Docs required: birth certificates, marriage and divorce certificates, passports, proof of high school or higher education and/or work experience, military service records if applicable, police records for every country and place you lived in for more than 6 months after turning 16 year old, proof of finances (such as job offer, affidavit of support, private property appraisals, etc.), etc.

All these original documents must have translations attached to them as well as one regular Xerox copy (if you are married, you have to bring two copies of a marriage certificate).

Thanks this was very useful information. I have couple of questions:

1- Other than all these documents are there any forms that need to be
filled? If so, what are they? Can we obtain them before the package
arrives?

2- Affidavit of support: My sister (she is single and working) and I
(married but not working) live in the US - have GCs. We will support
our parents. What documents are needed to show support?

3- Do they take the original copies of all the documents?

4- My parents stayed 3 times in the US for more than 6 months. Do they
need police records for their stay here?

5- Does KCC mind us calling to find out about the interview date?

TIA,
Unal Majid.
