Hi everyone, Thanks for your help. I have another question: I was wondering whether a US
citizen's location in US affects his i-130 application processing time? I mean, since a
lot more people must be applying from New York city, compared to only a few from Buffalo,
is there any chance that this might be a plus point in my case? (I live in Buffalo.) Thank
you, Ashish.

Location does make a difference, but not necessarily the way you think.

If you file an I-130 by itself (without an attached I-485), both Buffalo and New York
would file in the Vermont Service Center, so times are identical. If you file the I-130
together with an I-485, you'd file in the Buffalo vs. the New York City office. Offhand, I
can't tell you which one is faster - it's conceivable that because of the higher demand,
New York is more streamlined and more efficient (I don't think that's the case). You can
look up the actual processing times on several of the Web sites listed in my signature
(try Shusterman and Visalaw).
