My situation is as follows. Until June I had been working for an employer who
petitioned for the green card on my behalf. The I-485 was filed in October 2001, so
by June 180 days have passed and I had to switch to another company for whatever
reason. My current job is almost exactly the same as the old one, as far as duties
are concerned. The question is: what kind of paperwork do I need to file with INS
based on this employment change? I called customer service number and talked to an
information officer and they said I only needed to file change of address form and
that nothing else needs to be filed. Only at interview time I need to present proof
of new employment.
So, if anyone has info on this issue, please let me know. I want to preserve my
eligibility for green card and want to keep all paperwork in order.
