I've come across legal firms and other companies that claim that they can
get the fiancee process completed in 3 months. I wonder if there is any
truth to this claim or whether "can" just means they managed to do this one
time.

It could mean that they'll get the forms completed for you within three
months.

All lawyers are in the "same boat". The differences are only in the
diligence exercised in preparing a petition.

well one thing i know our lawyer can avoid the chance from sending incomplete forms, she made sure everything was filled correctly and made sure we had every needed documents that INS wanted. using the RIGHT lawyer really can save time from going back and forth sending the documents that you forgot to include.

Hi:

This immigration lawyer NEVER guarantees time [other than "premium processing"]. I've been doing this for 27 years and I learned a long time ago -- if I guarantee time -- I'm always wrong -- sometimes by predicting too long.

I've told this story before, but I'll tell it again -- one of my early cases for two identical twin daughters -- the paperwork was identical in all respects and filed at the same time. I-130 #1 took 21 days and I-130 #2 took 9 months.

My lawyer has been completely honest with me and has said it could take me 7 months at minimum. I have a slightly complicated case, though. Don't be fooled by a 3-month guarantee.

The answer is NO NO NO....The lawyer can help prepare your documents but
once it is sent in you are at the mercy of the service center....
This is great news group so keep up the good work everybody!

For normal situations lawyers cannot save time and will usually lengthen it
slightly. Obviously you expect less problems when using a lawyer (that
doesn't always happen though) - if you could guarantee you wouldn't get an
RFE when using a lawyer there would be more reason to use one than currently
exists. For some local INS offices filing with a lawyer can be slightly
quicker.

But, any legal firm saying it can process *all* (rather than just the
quickest one it's ever had!) fiancee applications in three months is
speaking out of it's collective arse and is probably best avoided!

Andy.
