There is an employer would like to hire me. He is owner of an automotive rebuilding
bussiness. I am in the US on a bussiness visa and my I-94 expires in March of this year.

Do I need a lawyer to change my status B1/B2 to H1B?

How much should I expect to pay if I do hire one?

Thanks. Andrei.

I would recommend that you get one. From your other posts, this does not look to be a very
straightforward case.

My lawyer charged a flat fee of $900, but I'm sure complex cases might cost more. Remember
that the INS filing fee itself is more than this (it's $1110).

*IMPORTANT NOTE* I am not a lawyer and do not dispense legal advice. For accurate
information, always consult a good immigration attorney.

You can apply without a lawyer. You'll find all the necessary info on INS site

http://www.ins.usdoj.gov/graphics/index.htm

A lawyer will cost you up to $3.000.
