Different Alien Nos
I have a question about the Alien Number.
I filed for my GC (thru spouse) in July 2002 in NYC. I received AP and
EAD and renewed both in Dec 2003.
When I look at the Alien Number in AP , it is different than that on
EAD (not by a letter or number, the whole thing is different).
My question is following
Is it okay? I mean can I go outside US and comeback on AP which has
different A# than my EAD?
At airport do the INS officials check their computers for A#?
What is the timeline to get interview in NYC
I will appreciate any responses.

Re: Different Alien Nos
I have three different A numbers on the EAD, AP and AOS receipt. Haven't had a problem so far. I have heard of a few people having this problem.
As for NYC AOS - it's still looking like a 2 year wait.

Even the interviewer didn't know why i have two, she said she will look into it and it might take weeks.

Re: Different Alien Nos
Didn't you have two A-numbers for your I-485 though?
We were talking about one A-number for I-485, one for EAD and another for AP. Apparently when you have the interview the I-485 number is used, and the others are discarded.
