Department of State lost my papers - Help!
I'm an H1B visa holder. On July 31st I sent all necessary paperwork
through my consulate (where my wife, an A2 holder, works) to the
deparment of state to change my status from H1 to A2. They said the
whole process was very straight forward and it would take about 2
months. About a month ago they said I had been accredited and I had my
PID number. But It's been more than three months since I started and
now it turns out the DOS doen's know where my file is, so basically
they lost it. Is there any kind of procedure to follow when this
happens, other than starting from scratch? Is there a way to expedite
the process the second time aroundo since it was their fault?
