Default Crossing Border & Citizenship

I wonder if anyone can answer a question for me. I will be filling for citizenship in September but wanted to do a day trip to Canada next week. Would this hinder my application? Can you leave the states for a day and come back.

Yes, as long as it doesn't push you over the limit (of time spent outside the USA) for being eligible to naturalize.

Thanks. How much time is that? I'm trying to find the answer on USCIS but having trouble.

A day is unlikely to cause a problem, if that's what you are planning.

Thanks. Another question will a birth certificate be fine for my baby or do they require infants to have their passports while crossing the border?

The answer to your question can be found here (assuming that your child is a US citizen)

Go to www.uscis.gov, and find the "USCIS Guide to Naturalization".
