CR-1 Visa Approved!

CR-1 Visa Approved!
My interview appointment was for 8am this morning at the Frankfurt Consulate. I was let in at 07:23 (first IV applicant in line) and was out again by 08:10. All the employees (German and American) I came into contact with were extremely polite and friendly, especially the vice consul who did the interview. When he asked where my husband lives (WA) he said that's the best of all the States . I can declare myself a satisfied customer - very pleased with the efficiency with which my case was processed.
And of course, I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped me here, especially the usual suspects: JEff, Rene and Ian.

Thanks . Yes, all very smooth and pleasant. Which is more than I can say for one of the people behind me in line who completely flipped out on the case worker who was reviewing people's packages when she told him his visa wouldn't be approved today because his military service records were missing.
The same guy was wearing what appeared to be pyjama bottoms and Ugg boots, which made me think about the question that frequently pops up here regarding dress code for the interview .

Are you booking tickets? When are you going over? So all done, except worrying about your bags when you are in immigration!
Pyjama pants and ugg boots, haha, very stylish.

Was planning on mid- to late-April, but some changes have come up in my husband's work schedule that mean I may have to put it off a little longer. Still, after nearly 4 years we're on the home stretch now!

Great news! Really pleased for you. Hope the move goes well.
Pyjama trousers in public are fashionable here. It makes me feel very old. Still never ok for a visa interview

Passport and sealed envelope delivered this morning . The visa is actually valid for six months from the date of issue, rather than from the date of the medical as I expected. (I vaguely remember reading at some point that different consulates follow different regulations regarding the medical, but wherever that was I can't find it again now.)
Next thing to worry about: not losing my passport for the next couple of months! I think I will only have to use it once before I immigrate to the US. Will wear it in a plastic pouch around my neck and fastened to my belt .
