Re: cost of living in USA - info please?!
Hey Cindy....what is the best price for a RTW air ticket (in economy) on Star Alliance airlines and for OneWorld?
My spouse will be in London and Zurich in mid-November and then returning to Singapore. Hes suggested that I meet him in Europe and fly back to Singapore with him (he will probably fly with SQ but would consider BA). I'll return to the States approx 2nd week in January.
SQ is doing a promotion on their website from JFK (sadly my local airport EWR only has their all-business class flight nowadays) via Frankfurt and it's about $1300 inc. taxes but no airmiles being awarded.
I might go for it but I do know that some people say that a RTW ticket can be the cheapest way to do multiple stops? What do you suggest?

Re: cost of living in USA - info please?!
Likely BA is your best bet since they cover all 3 of your proposed destinations via EWR regardless of the order of your itin. I must say that 1300 sounds pretty tempting though....... Like JG says it beats $9K. However that $9K sounds remarkably like BA's Biz class RTW tix. It's actually 8600 plus taxes. Their economy RTW fare is $3900 plus taxes. IF I book BA regularly-point to point- using economy and approximate dates, then BA is coming in around $3K WITH taxes.

Re: cost of living in USA - info please?!
We moved from London to Charleston, SC just over a month ago and my impression so far is that the cost of living is either the same or more expensive than London, especially the groceries. Right now I can't think of anything that's cheaper here other than petrol.
