Default Converting status from B2 to F1

Hi all,

I used to have L1 visa and I made a request to change my status to B2
tourist visa
to take some time off after employment. It has been approved.

Right now, I'm in the process of enrolling for a graduate study and I'd
like to apply
for change of status from B2 to F1 student visa.

I know that I have to apply for a change of status with I-20 and
financial support documents.

What is my chances of getting an approval for this case based on your
exprience?

Is there any detail I should be aware of in the process? Any
suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your help,
FHM

Hei, I'm almost in the same situation.
I'm on my J1 visa, I-94 expires ( gracing status) october 6, i'm
planning to get in college,
but i don't know, what is better.. to get B2 before applying for F1
and prepare everything more thoroghly... or apply for F1 now... or is
it better to get married to a person who has a political asylum? and
after getting the status go to school and pay out of atate tuition?
thank you a lot.

Shouldn't be a big problem IMO. But you do know that it is the school, not you, who applies for the F-1, right?

Hi:

Traditionally, the B-2 to F-1 non-immigrant change of status is one the most difficult changes to get approved. What did you say on the change of status to B-2? You don't say.

What country are you from? Are you prepared to show "home abroad" with no intention of abandonment? These are just two bits of general questions. You just might be better off in going home and getting that visa. Also, I'm noting the timing of things given the normal academic year.

Your question is a quite complicated one. To be honest, if you retained yours truly, there would be attorneys that **I** would be consulting. Yours is NOT the type of question that can be answered with any degree of confidence in an internet NG situation.
