confused on 'processing date'

hi all.
i need some info to clear my confusion. here it goes:
what does the 'processing times' for AOS, as written in USCIS District office processing date page means? does that mean:

1. processing date = the date they process your case AFTER the fingerprinting, or
2. processing date = the date they process your fingerprinting?

the charlotte district office shows that they are doing the 'processing date' for AOS, for receipt dated feb 15, 2003.

please, any input will be appreciated.

have a nice day!

Re: confused on 'processing date'

It's from the day that your application was received. The fingerprinting is done on its' own timeframe. Just hope by the time your AOS interview happens (the date that the processing time is listing) that the background check based on your fingerprints will be done. Hope this helps.

Re: confused on 'processing date'

I've never heard that the processing date has anything to do with the date of fingerprinting. I had always thought the date started on the day the file was received and inputted into the USCIS database, i.e. the date on your receipt.

Look forward to hearing any other thoughts on this.

Hi! angraeni!

I just like to ask you... did you file your SS# before you were married? and did you had it changed to your married name after?

What's your via status? If K-1 apply for the SSN as soon as you get
here. Once you are married and have filed for AOS and your EAD card go
back for the SSN name change once you receive your EAD card with your
married name.

Hi anggraeni!

thanks for the reply. I'm a k-1 and i've a schedule appointment for fingerprinting on june 11 at charlotte office. it will be a 2 1/2 hour drive for us coz we live in durham. do you have an interview schedule? do you know the timeframe(after the interview) when you can get your greencard?

thanks!

hi grace.
no, i havent gotten any interview letter. and i dont know how long we have to wait for greencard to arrive until the interview is done, either. as a matter of fact i will be moving next month (still in NC) so i will have to do the change of address form thing and i HOPE it doesnt slow things.

its funny you have to do the fingerprinting in charlotte, because raleigh will be closer to durham, right? i have done mine in raleigh.

anyway, keep us posted. have a nice day! :)
