Hey guys, been many years since I've logged in. I am so out of the loop on what's what nowadays so I have a few questions.

I am finally going to do my Citizenship. I have 6 months left on my 10 yr Green Card. Is that enough remaining for me to apply? Any issues? I did read it can take quite some time to process through to finish. Is it going to matter if my GC expires before hand?

It doesn't matter if your GC expires while the naturalization application is pending. You can go to the USCIS office to get an I-551 stamp, which they give to you since you have a pending N-400, even if you didn't file I-90 to renew your GC.

So I wait until GC expired or about to before getting the I-551 stamp I assume?

You can get it at any time, but it makes sense to wait until the card is about to expire. Be prepared for a long wait on the N400 depending on your area, backlogs are huge.

(Here in Atlanta it's 1-2 years right now)
