Change of Status... Any Ideas Guys???
I applied for a change of status from F-2 to F-1 almost 3 months back because my spouse (on F-1) left the US.
When I called INS today to find the status of my application (I-539), I got the following recorded message with respect to my application -
"Application Type: I539, APPLICATION TO EXTEND OR CHANGE NONIMMIGRANT STATUS
Current Status:
On November xx, 2002, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case. The notice explains in detail what additional material is needed. If you have questions about the notice, what is required, or if 14 days have passed and you have not received the notice, please speak to an Immigration Information Officer during business hours."
I cannot wait to see what the notice contains.
Is there anybody out here who was / is in an almost similar situation and who could let me know if such additional information request is normal and what may have been asked possibly?
Please help anybody who has any idea about this.

I got the same notice requesting additional evidence when I applied for
my EAD. Turned out they rejected my picture 'cause I didn't show my
ears, so I had to retake my photos and mail it back to them.
That took an additional 3 months.
Good luck!

Thanks Lydia. I hope its as simple as that in my case too.
Anybody else who can share their experiences or knowledge about the "additional evidence".
Thanks
