Chances for B2?
I know someone might be asking why on earth I need comments on
chances for a simple tourist visa. But here's the situation. I applied for R-1 in Dec 2005. Refused. Then applied again for R-1 again in May 2006. Refused again. Both times asked for written explanation from the embassy (second time it was even promised to me by the officer), have been writing requests but never Church nor me got anything from them in writing. This summer I just want to visit usa and return, without any further intentions. I will be visiting the same people I've put in my previous visa applications (address where i will be staying, for example will be the same from r-1 applications). At the same address I also stayed last summer when I was in the U.S. on B2. During the past year, I paused my education as my expectations were religious work in the u.s. Now I have enrolled to different school and am expecting from them letter stating that I will start studying on September. I have also paid $2,100 for the first semester. Also, I can show that I own property in my home country (a house that my father gave it to me - it is on my name). How all this sounds? I believe these are strong ties enough but also am aware that, since my application got refused 2 times they will be looking more carefully for B2 issuance. Thanks for responding. |
Re: Chances for B2?
There is a fair difference between applying for a nonimmigrant visa
and a tourist visa ... But if you have spent a lot of time in the US recently you may well have a problem .. Perhaps best to apply in about 6 months to a years time .. |

Perhaps best to apply in about 6 months to a years time .. Well, I was there last summer last time. I've got 6 month permission to stay, but I left the US after 35 days with everything done properly (I94). Thanks for your response. |
