Default Certified mail to Nebraska Service Center?

I sent my I-129F fiancee visa application to the NSC via certified mail on Friday
August 2. As of now, Friday August 9 I haven't got a reciept back.

Should I have sent it certified mail? Maybe that was a mistake...

Would it be normal to take longer than a week to get the return receipt on certified
mail to the NSC?

Thanks a lot for any feeback,

Craig Hilles

Next time you may just want to send it Priority Mail, with Delivery Confirmation.
Then you will have a tracking number and you can just check on the status of delivery
every evening! I work for the USPS and I can tell you that strange things happen to
those "return receipts" (that was the green card you should have filled out and
attached to the back of the Certified piece, BTW. I have found the following----
arriving certified mail that HAD a return receipt but was lost (came off the
envelope) before delivery; return receipts with NO RETURN Address (or the addressee's
name there by mistake); return receipts that get mutilated by the sorting
machines.....it could also be en-route back to you so don't stress One other hint, if
you have the Certified Mail receipt with the number you can also go to
www.usps.com and track that number there, they are
supposed to be scanned when they are delivered.

Good luck! "Craig Hilles" <[email protected]> wrote in message news:[email protected]

Give it a little more time. It can take a little longer sometimes. Certified mail is the recommended method of mailing. You should be getting your return receipt anytime now.

Hi Craig,

I have just recently submitted my i-129f as well, and was concerned about the wait. I
fed-ex'd mine so I was able to track it.... Here is my time line July 31-mailed out
on fed-ex August 1-received at NSC (used fed-ex tracking number) August 10-received
first NOA dated August first. (it actually was received by my lawyer a day or two
earlier, then they forwarded it on to me)

I was worried about it as well, I was calling the bank on a daily basis, until wed
august the 7th, when I figured I would just give it a rest.... So even though the
cashiers check had not cleared yet, the petition was opened up and put into the
system the same day it arrived....

Hope this helps Chris And the race is on..... why do I feel that my my petition is
riding the back of the tortise as opposed to the hare! hehehe
