Default Canadian in total and absolute confusion

SO many message boards/websites/blar out there, and they all say
something different.
My situation is this. I am a Canadian citizen who lawfully entered
the us and married a us citizen.

when I file all my multitude of papers...the i-130 and i-485
concurrently, i become confused. They ask for an alien number, or a
reason which i am applying, which i don't have (because I'm filing
the I-130 at the same time, the one that ostensibly gives me the
number).

what do i do with this? How do I navigate this situation?

does anyone know?

I've only been here a month and a half but am so tired of being in
limbo, and so tired of all those websites telling me im going to be
deported and hung and tortured and on and on, i just need a straight
answer...help me obi wan...you're my only hope.

Why are you confused? You don't actually ask a specific question. "How do I do this?" is kind of vague.

It seems like you know the forms you need to fill out. Just answer all the questions honestly, and if they ask something that doesn't apply to you, put "NA". If they ask you for something you don't have, put "none". It's pretty simple, really.

If it asks you to list your A-number, for example, and you know you don't have one...you can't put anything there, right? You can either draw a line through that area, or write "none". USCIS prefers a line, so they can go back and write in a number when you get one.

Nothing really confusing if you step away from it for a bit. You entered as a visitor to the US. You were not an alien but a visitor and therefore would not have an alien registration number. FYI that number when you receive it will be yours for life and you will find out what that number is when you get your Notice of Action from the service center. Put two dashes through the box where the AR# should go. Also you do not have a social security #. Your SIN number wouldn't do.

Your reason for applying is very simple "You are married to a US Citizen".

Also may I suggest you use the marriage-based forums for your questions since this is the type of petition you are using.

Remember that you need 3 G-325A's. Two for yourself and one for your USC spouse. One of each will be for the I-130 and the one for yourself will be for the I-485. Also if you d/l the forms the G-325A is four sheets. Either use a sheet of carbon paper and only write on one, of use the computer to complete the forms, etc.

Remember also that all signatures should be in blue ink to show that it is an originally signed copy and not a xerox.

As for the N/A and None .... please be very very careful which one you use. If it asks for children's names ... use NONE. It is applicable but the answer is NONE.
