Canadian Software Engineer to move to Florida - Do I have a chance?
Hi there everybody,
I'm a canadian software engineer with about 8 years of software
development, including leading a team of deveopers.
I want to move to Florida, but I dont know if I have a chance getting
a job there.Would staffing companies even consider me as a candidate?
Whats the best approach? How to find out the salary range?
Thanks for any help,
james

It should be relatively easy as you probably qualify for a TN visa and are
not subject to the H1b cap. Also, TN processing is MUCH easier, faster and
cheaper than the other professional visas. I went once on a recruiting trip
for my company in Canada, and HR's only concern was with non-Canadians.
Jobs are not as abundant as they were 5 years ago but there is still need
for qualified professionals.

I cant recall but i think it was something like www.hotjobs.com that you can tick a box before you search, that 'lists jobs with employers williing to sponsor visa's' --> thats what i found, (after a great deal of time) and was successful in finding a bank to employ me/sponsor my h1b (im IT also)
