Canadian curious about legalities to get a job in U.S.

Default Canadian curious about legalities to get a job in U.S.

i was just wondering I am a born canadian citizen living in B.C Canada
and i might be offered a job in Pullman Washington U.S.A. now if i get
the job can i simply fly over and start work or what sort of things
must be done? visa etc how long would i be looking at till i could
actually start work? what sort of things must be done please someone
respond and inform me on all of the legallities i'm very unaware of
what must be done and i must be informed i have a very high chance of
landing a good paying job and having room and board for very cheap..

Depends on what the job is and how qualified you are. You may qualify for a TN visa if the job is in a certain category and if you have the appropriate education for it (a degree). Look it up on the Department of State web site.

If you don't qualify for that, then if you're a university student and it's summer work - there is a special program for Canadians to do that.

Otherwise I'm out of ideas.

But no, you can't just fly over and start work without the appropriate authorization.
