Can green card invalidate Citizenship?
Hey all,
So first of all, I think the answer is "no" but wanted to hear what you all thought.
It's been a journey but I became a citizen in December! I had filed for removal of conditions on my permanent residence but it was taking a very long time to process (literally years, had to get extension and then a I-551 stamp) so I just filed N-400 as soon as I was eligible while waiting for the removal of conditions.
I had my naturalization interview and they went over both filings (removal of conditions and N-400) and all went fine, had my ceremony a week later.
When I got home USCIS called to say they accidentally posted my 10 year green card (after processing removal of conditions) and if I didn't mail it back or take it back in person my US Citizenship was void. I'll certainly be returning the green card but I am just curious whether the USCIS agent was lying- it seems ridiculous that my citizenship could be void because somebody made a mistake on their end.
Cheers!

That sounds pretty daft of them, probably an untrained operator. You can't be stripped of your citizenship anywhere near that easily, certainly not for a clerical error on their part. Just send back the now invalid 10 year GC.

They're just using the usual government-employee-screwed-up incentivization to get you to return it.
