Default Can an attorney speed up processing at Nebraska service center?

I have a message from an attorney (I won't mention the name), that says he can speed
up the processing from the NSC. He says he is currently getting their approvals in
approximately 80 days from the receipt of the filing.

Does anyone have any comments on whether they think this is true or not? The cost is
HUGE but it would be worth it to get it processed in 80 days!!!!

Any information anyone has would be greatly appreciated...

Think lawyer is not telling it how it is. Or that huge fee is part of a payoff to an INS officer. But all apps are serviced in order they are received. And as of now they are still working on April 22 or 23 rd whatever but they are slow.

If the money is worth a few weeks, then see if he offers a money back guarantee on the 80 days. Of couse, that's a crap shoot. NSC has been doing other stuff for a couple of months and will get back to K-1's before too much longer. In May they were processing in 40 ~ 45 days. NSC very well may shift their priority and catch back up with Texas and California.

Frankly, it sounds like the attorney is just trying to get into your pocket. What will you do on day 90 and he says "another week"?

Quietly fold your money and put it back into your pocket. It will be a better investment.

Interesting since I did mine without a lawyer and got it back in around 70 days. Of
course, that was before the NSC K-1 shutdown. Save your money. Do it yourself.

Honestly, I would still do it yourself. An attorney isn't going to speed up the INS
any, and I don't think its worth the money. I found the best way to speed up
processing is to make sure your application is properly organized when you mail it
off. Follow the guildlines on the INS website closely, http://www.ins.gov/graphics/fieldoffices/sc-
national/index.htm
which will lessen the chances of anything being lost or
misplaced, or being sent back or rejected.

I filed for my husband's K-3 all by myself, using online forms from the INS website,
and have not yet had a single problem with NSC, MSC, or the Consulate in Vancouver.
We are just now in the process of applying for his EAD and his AOS, so we shall see
how fast that goes.

Good luck,

Wendy

We were also one of the lucky ones in dealing with Nebraska INS. We did the forms
ourselves, made sure everything was accurate and our approval was received in 70
days, however this was back in February.
