Default calling USCIS' toll-free number

Hopefully an easy one!

We're in between NoA1 and NoA2 (as some of you know because I'm become a bit of a bore with this ) ...and I read somewhere that a call to the toll free to enquire can help (at best) or have no effect (at worst) so I was thinking that it's worth a little while on hold

Do you think it matters if it's USC or UKC who calls?

Just conscious that it is (obviously) USC who filed the I-129F...

Thanks! Ben

Can help do what? They can't speed up processing of your case, if that's what you mean.

I agree, what would be the reason for the call? Right now you are just waiting for the I-129F to be approved at the service center. USCIS will only be able to tell you that it's processing. At this point, they see the same thing you do at the USCIS tracking site.

Oh, to answer your question anyway....is the UKC able to make an 800-number call to the USA from the UK, at no charge?

But I think it would be better for the USC to call, since at this point it's really only the USC's petition. But again, there's really no reason to call, unless the NOA2 is late.

What's the date on the NOA1?

Rene

Thanks Bill and Rene

I understand what you both are saying of course, although I did read about doing this from a couple of other forumites... raising the call logged against the case number perhaps Bill? ...and you know what it's like, you want to do all you can

Rene - As the UKC I can call toll-free, via skype... so it's free on my plan. ...and the date is 5th April, so 9 weeks tomorrow

Way too soon to be worried about NOA2 yet. USICS National goal is to adjudicate I-129F's within 6 months. CSC average is 5 months.

So if I were you, I wouldn't start thinking about calling until at least after September 5.

Sure, I know the VSC currently publish their latest figures at 5 months... I do draw some solace from this being an average as in some applications are way over, and some are way less... we're praying for a way-less!!

Yep. Despite what you may have read or understood, calling doesn't speed things up in the slightest.

And no they will not talk to you, the UKC. The petitioner is the only person they will speak with. I've seen others told just that when they have called to inquire of a petition sent on their behalf.

Patience. Everything comes at the right time.
