Default called NVC again

I called the NVC again just a little go (first time was Tuesday April 8, 2003) and was told by the operator that our file had in fact been forwarded to the London Consulate and could take anywhere from 10 to 15 days for them to receive it. From what I can gather from others here going through this process is it doesn't actually take that long for London to get forwarded files. I'm guessing our file should reach London by Thursday April 17, 2003.

I asked the operator why I had not yet received a paper notice from the NVC and she regurgitated that it usually takes 2-4 weeks to receive paper notice. *rolls eyes* Okay, standard response and unhelpful.

I also asked if *I* was supposed to expect receipt of the paper notice or my fiancé and she said said that the *petitioner* would receive notice. Their site says the petitioner would NOT receive the notice so I was all confused and not sure who would get the notice.

Hope this helps someone who might have some of the same questions as myself.

They may just give a general answer.

I don't think the NVC would notify the beneficiary that they have received
the document since everything was done by the petitioner. As far as I
understand, the beneficiary start dealing with NVC or consular when the
actual visa application and process taken place.

I guess they are right. I, the petitioner, just received a notice from NVC
stating that they have received my approved petition from BCIS. It will be
forwarded to the consular within a week.

I called the NVC Tue. 8th and was told mine had been sent to london on Mon the
7th. I recieved my letter today from the NVC. The person i talked to was very
friendly(Mind you i had called before and gotten some not so friendly people),
she gave me our case number. But the letter has only our reciept number from
the petition no case number so be sure and ask for your case number if they
don't offer, it's nice to have if u want to email London. I'm wondering how
long it will take to get to the London?

I called NVC on the 7th (last time was the 26th of March and they had just received file from MSC) and they said they had sent the file to London on the 1st and gave me a London case number. On the 9th I received a notification from them dated 31 March that they had forwarded the file to London. I have emailed London to see if they have received it yet. They seem to be pretty quick about sending off the packet 3 to the beneficiary, we'll see.

DonnaT is an unknown quantity at this point

Our file was sent to London 6 days after the online approval from BCIS. I did speak with a girl on the phone at NVC and she gave me a number to email London with. London had sent the paperwork to Adrian 7 days from the time NVC sent it. Everything moves along pretty quickly. It did take sometime to recieve the paper from NVC though.

London uses 2nd class mail, so it may take a few days. Actually, after 10 days we called to say we didnt get it. They sent a 2nd one first class mail and we recieved it in three days.

The forms are still on the Consulate web site and can be downloaded. I downloaded them before we got our file so that I would have all the info ready to give my husband when he got his forms.

We sent the forms back yesterday and I am flying over next week to stay for three weeks. We are hoping and hoping that he gets his interview while I am there!!!

Doh! When I went and changed my signature yesterday I forgot to add:

* 12/03/02 Opened Provisional File at London Consulate

this has now been added to my britishexpats forum signature. for those in usenet, it should have read like this:

We DO have a provisional file open so I will have my fiancé e-mail the London Consulate with the LND number the NVC people gave me and see what happens.
