Peter is a British citizen and I am a US citizen - we have been researching on
the web and elsewhere on the requirements for us to marry and for him to come to
the states.

Sometimes it seems that it would be easier to marry in Britain and file for his entry
as an alien relative, but frankly the more I read, the more confused I become.

There is so much out there but I haven't found a definitive list of the process
- by that I mean a step by step guide to the process - does anyone know a web site
that could help us out? For either option fiance' visa or alien spouse.

Help! - thanks

I find that http://k1.exit.com/ is a most excellent site, the sidebar navigation has
a simple layout so it's easy to find what you need, but also he explains in depth so
it's good no matter where you are in the process. Give it a try and see if that
helps. Now as for choosing when and how to marry, it's up to you, but every place I
look, tells that the K1 is actually faster to be processed. Also remember that really
only the petition is approved over here, then after that it's processed by your
foreign consulate, in your case- Britain. And each consulate is different. My fiancé
is from India so I will be dealing with the consulate in Bombay, so my experience and
yours will be a lot different, although we are both just "getting the ball rolling"
so to speak. But there seem to be a lot of people here going through the British
consulate system, you might want to compare notes with them.

Good luck!
