I never know this group existed till this past weekend, WONDERFUL!
Wish we would have been aware of this forum long ago, it's been a long process.
Would anyone in this group happen to know how long a backround check takes at
the time of the aos interview if it were not available at the interview?
Answer would be most welcome.

That's about right Dennis. NYC is running 24 to 26 months for AOS interviews. If you did not receive an AOS appointment letter several months after filing, they usually send them out about 3-2 months before hand. You still haven't mentioned if you have been fingerprinted yet.

no finger printing yet, still waiting
i understand that that there are times when you have the adjustment interview,
you still have to wait for the backround clearance in order to get the passport
stamp, then green card sent, probably will have to renew employment card,
thought since all this stuff is computerized that backround check would be fast
comming. some i guess get approved right away, others have to wait I dunno,
waiting
