Baby's citizenship
I'm a British Citizen, married to a US active duty serviceman. We're currently posted in Italy.
I'm pregnant and will be having the baby in a civilian hospital in Italy. Can anyone advise what citizenship our baby will have or can apply for?
Completely new at this so appreciate any help!

I was born in the UK to British parents, is that what you mean by 'how I got my citizenship'?

On a quick Google (afraid your lazy researcher couldn't be bothered collecting URLs for citations).
You will hold Italian citizenship by being born there. You have to formally renounce it to get rid. There were prroblems with Italian and other citizenships -- these are no longer there!
You're okay on the military service. On May 8, 2001, the Italian government passed a law (Art. 7 del D. Lgs. 8 maggio 2001 n. 215) making military service completely voluntary as of January 1, 2007. Females do not have any military obligations, nor does any male born on or after January 1, 1986….
Looks like junior could be a 3 passport brat!

I doubt I'd bother with the Italian one either if all I was is born there.
But, they do have a pretty good footy team, so their chances of winning a world cup before England may sway my chances.
