B2 visa valid until 2020, passport expires 2015

B2 visa valid until 2020, passport expires 2015

Hi all,

My dad (Malaysian citizen) has a B2 visa which is valid until 2020 but his passport expires in June 2015 - does anyone know if he will still be able to use the current visa even though he will have a new passport post-2015 or if he will need to apply for a new visa to go in the new passport?

He doesn't need a new visa, because the current visa will remain valid. When he travels, he will need to carry both the old and the new passport. Simple.
