Automated Response

The lawyers told me on Wednesday itself that my H1-B petition has been approved. However,
today I phoned the automated response system of the NSC & entered my LIN No. The automated
response still says that cases take 30-100 days to be processed & that they will mail me
as soon as a decision is reached. Is this normal ? Does the automated system lag behind
the actual status ?

With the INS I would not be surprised if that were the case. We received my wife's
plastic GC but the automated system said that it was ordered on Jan 17, 2001 and is
taking between 240-365 days to receive it. The INS mailed it out on the 18th and we got
it a few days later.
Perhaps you could pick up a copy of the H-1B approval from your lawyer? Or maybe they will
send it to your employer since they petitioned for you.

In our case, the automated response system couldn't find our case no. at all. The 129 for
an H1b was filed last Nov. 28, and we already have a receipt.
Is this normail or should we call the INS and look for a person?
Accdg to the latest case status reports, we're expecting H1b approval first week of Feb.
