I was found inadmissible to US during my fifth visit on same valid B1/B2 and removed and
banned for 5 years.Reason was I overstayed in 1992 but before 1997( old visa).I was told I
can apply for permission from Attorney General for admission into US. Did anyone have
similar situation and is it sense to apply for such permission ?

This "permission from Attorney General" is known as a waiver of inadmissibility. You'll
have to have very good reasons, such as hardship to a US citizen, to get one.
