Default Applying B1/B2 - Documents required

I'm applying for a B1/B2 visa (i'm a canadian pr). My primary purpose
right now is business and I have a invitation letter from the clients
company in the US. However since this visa category is
business/tourism, do I have to also take some documentation for the
tourism part of it (like a invitation letter from a friend/relative).

I know this doesnt make too much sense (to carry docs for both business
& tourism). Please share visa interview experiences.

The visa is usually issued in the form of B1/B2 as you said, but can
even be issued separately on occasions. If your intention is only to
visit clients, it will suffice to take documents showing that, there is
no need to establish intentions of tourism. Even a few days or weekend
more or less typically gets included in that, based on the decision of
the consular officer. Should you want to spend one week visiting
clients, and another week visiting friends or sightseeing, then you may
want to take documents showing your intentions for the second week.

Regardless of the above, the most important documents are those showing
strong ties in Canada, employment letter and recent pay stubs probably
being at the top of the list. If you have family here, own a home or
other interests, take evidence of that with you.

There is a long waiting time for visa appointments in Toronto, so book
early.

Good luck!

You don't really need to worry about the tourism part. You are really
applying just for a B-1 (business visitor visa). It is permissible to
become a tourist upon conclusion of your business. You do not need a
tourist visa at all. Rather, you are automatically changing to B-2
status just by virtue of finishing the business and staying around for
pleasure. It's the only situation where a change of status takes place
automatically, without applying for it with USCIS.

Since this change of status takes place inside the USA, you do not need
the visa.

Of course disclose the intent if asked, but I wouldn't worry about much
else.
