hello guys,

just wanted to share ..

i called FBI name check dept and faxed them my name check status inquiry 7 working days ago, since the lady told me to wait for seven days for answer, and told me to include my e mail address and phone number for contact.

today monday dec 8th 2003 i called same number and some guy picked up and i explained my situation and asked if there is any news for me, he said he dont know what i am talking about and they didnt receive any inqury form. he sounded just like USCIS rep, i guess they are getting like uscis as well, to ignore inquiries.
tomorrow i will again fax them my inquiry and will call them after i do that, and will repeat faxing and calling until they say yes they have it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i had also put inquiries on my case with uscis , two times in person and one time over the phone and no answer, and that was 3 months ago. still nothing.

went to my senator schumer's office , the clerk took my papers, although she told me , that, there are ppl who been waiting for oath letter for 2 years after their interview and its been only 5 months for you so why i wanna be smart A$$ by trying to make this quick. and told me to NOT to call before 11 weeks have passed. 11 weeks guys 11 weeks, do u think thats how long it takes senator's inquiry to do through???? i guess they didnt want me to help and still wont help me,

i regret filing my N 400 from NY.

i have mom who is sick, and i want to be a citizen so i can apply for her , so she can get good treatment here, and gives me chance to take care of her. other than that, i really dont need citizenship, green card is just fine.

If it takes a year and a half consider yourself lucky. At least you are trying everything and so you might eventually find a problem and alert them to it.

Yesterday I receive a letter from FBI.
I faxed an inquire about my "name check" process on Dec.2nd. They sent their answer on Dec.9th. Pretty fast!!
It turned out they completed my checking on July 31st and sent the results to INS.
I was so angry and disappointed. It took INS 5 months!!! to schedule me to the Oath ceremony.
I went to Newark local office in the beginning of September and was told they didn't get a reply from FBI.
I urge everyone who is waiting for their "name check" to faxed to the FBI an inquire form and then go to INS with the letter (in case if your investigation was completed).
I'm so sorry I didn't know about namecheck department in FBI, I would have sent an inquire earlier.
Here is the phone number I called to FBI 1-202-324-3000, they gave me the fax number (can't find it now, sorry).

Good luck to everyone!!

FBI processed my prints in less than two weeks, they're not the problem in most cases - it's CIS's delay.

I was not talking about the fingerprints.
Name check is completely different story.
FBI process' fingerprints usually in 1-2 days .

INS's typical mantra is "We will contact you later. Please do not send
reqiests for case status while we are woking on your case as it might
further delay your case". But they don't do anything and you are not
supposed to check on status !

Shaky,

if you did not include an address, how are they going
to mail you a letter?

ps: 2 years after the interview, that is a lie; there is no one
I dare to say in the country (w/o a serious problem inherent
th his case) waiting that long.

drvr1......

yes u are right even though i wasnt told to give them my address i should have written my address on form. because she told me to include my e mail address and phone number so they can let me know of result, thats all she said.I thaught at that moment that FBI might be doing work in timely fashion and in this day and age maybe they ARE capable of sending E mail back. BUT i was wrong. i will contact them again and include my address .
