I am sorry to hear that...thats the most i have heard so far for oath ceremony...

did u inquire about status of ur case.? why is it taking so long?

i heard its something called name check thing now a days and have no clue how it works and how long it takes.

i am in NYC area.... what about u.??? and did u ask for name change ????

okay, i had my interview on september 2003 and still wiating for the letter to tell me when the oath is...i am hoping that it is soon. does anyone know how long or how short it takes for the oath appointment?

Your location shows Wisconsin. I assume your local INS office is Milwaukee. Could you please share your timeline so far?

My interview was on Oct 6th and I am still waiting (Boston). My brother interviewed a week before me and got his oath date on the very same day.

I'm waiting from the beginning of April. The other day I went to the second fingerprints since fingerprints are expired after 15 months for INS.
One month of waiting is nothing yet!

I was interviewed on October 30. 2003 in the Orlando office, and was told that there was possibility of getting an oath date for december 5th, which would be the next oath ceremony at Sea World. The one prior to that was sometime in October and it was held in Disney World. She said that if I did not get the December one, there was another one scheduled for sometime in January. I have yet to recieve any letters from INS. I will let you all know when and if I get it.

I applied through NSC on May 30, 2003 and had my oath ceremony in Denver today. Others at the ceremony told me they applied 3 months ago. At the time I applied, Denver was quoting a 12 to 18 month processing time.

I got interview of naturalization in Portland Maine on September 22, 2003. At that time. The interviewer in that local BCIS office told me that my oath ceremony was most likely in November or December 2003.

On November 14th, I visited local BCIS office to check my status since I haven’t received the notice of my date for oath ceremony. The Local BCIS officer told me that my FBI name checking was not yet done so BCIS didn’t know the date of my oath.

Can you tell me how long was your waiting period of between interview and receiving oath letter?

After Nov of this year, two years will have passed and your application is out of the time guideline. You can then call the 1-800 number, give receipt and they will do something different other than tell you to just wait.

Its official. When I opened the mail today, to my amazement I found a DHS envolope stating that the oath ceremony is scheduled for December 5, 2003.

I was interviewed on October 30, 2003.
