Default Anyone been waiting over a month to hear from consulate?

Has anyone had to wait more than a month for their Case to be sent from the NVC to the Consulate abroad? The dilemma I have is that my Consulate (Kingston) is reporting that they didnt get our info from the NVC. The NVC is saying they sent it, and that they cant resend it unless Kingston makes a request fro them to send it. but how can the Cosulate request that they resend our informatoin when they have no knowledge about our case in the first place? Is this the end of our case?

I have too have been waiting for the Consulate to get my K3. It was
approved on 29 January. My concern is that my wife needs to get the
Visa issued prior to May 27 or I must repeat the whole process.

My wife will go to the Consulate again on Monday and keep checking
back weekly until they get our case. I have emailed the Consulate but
it apparently has fallen on deaf ears.

Default How long for security namecheck?

How long have people been waiting (with no Chinese or Russian
connections) for security namecheck to come back lately?

Hi,
I've been waiting about 4 months to hear from consulate!

K3 approved by NVC back in Nov. 20.
Consulate said they received it Jan. 15 and submitted a name/clearance check. They said this would take 2 or 3 weeks. Ha! This was more than two months ago! Consulate is Juarez (Mexico). Consulate says background checks are now taking a very long time because of more strict procedures that began in December of last year. This created a big backlog of name clerance requests.

How does he get the interview before the Embassy receives the paperwork from
BCIS?

hi calderon! well, at the US embassy in Manila....once the US citizen spouse receives the 2nd NOA approval notice and/or NVC letter....The US citizen spouse can tell her spouse in manila to call the embassy for the K3 packet, then get documents ready, then go for the medical exam and then on fridays the spouse can go for the interview. There are no appointments for the interview...you just walk-in on fridays

I guess in manila they open a "file" until they receive all documents then they can issue the visa.

our approval was in the 1st week of january 2003 and NVC forwarded it to manila on jan24,2003. I cant understand why the embassy hasnt received the papers yet.

just gotta wait again...

I guess "no appointment is needed" would a preveledge.
I'm pretty sure that people can obtain forms from the Embassy so they get
them ready prior to the action taken by the consulate. Nothing is wrong with
that. Ofcourse, physical exam and some other documents can be done prior to
the notification. Actually, you can get those forms from the State
Department website.

It's just a clue that I picked up from some others who had gone through US
Embassy in Bangkok. They say that we should contact the consulate after we
receive the approval from the INS because they seem to brush them aside if
you don't. I don't know whether it's true or not.

I have also been waiting for over a month. I got a letter from NVC dated 2/19/2003 that our case had been transferred to the US Consulate in Montreal. We've called Montreal and they still have no record of our case. Called the NVC and they said they sent it electronically to Montreal on 2/14/2003 and that they can not resend unless the US Consulate requests it. So we continue to wait.

thanks

Actually, its been 6 months since we filed the I-130. We were married in the US, but my wife lives in Canada thus the I-129F (k3) was sent to Montreal. We have not made any errors in our filing (i.e. no RFE's so far). Our NOA's were received faster than the average based on postings in this NG. This transfer from the NVC to the US Consulate in Montreal is the first thing we have gone through in which our wait time has been longer (vs other K3ers transferred to Montreal). K3 went through MSC.

I sure hope you asked Montreal if they would request a resend of the info to them from NVC since it's been over a month. Jeesh, you could walk it from Portsmouth to Montreal in a month!

According to Montreal, the case isn't overdue yet, so they will not ask the NVC to resend the case.

So you have to wait 2 more months for it to become overdue?
