Default anyone actually finishd the namecheck process???

Many people have posted about their naturalization experience where
they passed the interview, but were told that additional
name-check/background check/etc. were necessary before they could take
the oath.

Is there anyone out there who has had this experience and whose
name-check was actually FINISHED and they took the oath? Could you
share how long it took after the interview?

It seems to me that there are mainly two groups of people: those who
pass the exam and either on the same day or a few weeks later take the
oath, and thsoe who pass the exam, and then go into this waiting world
of name-check, backgrond check, etc. If you belong to the second
group, please share your experience (specially if you actually did
finish the process).

I had my interview at Newark, NJ, on April and I'm still waiting for
the name-check thing.

Thanks. and good luck to all.

Well, my fiance has been waiting since Aug of last year for the name check to clear. So we went ahead and faxed an inquiry to the FBI to find out what the status is, and we should be getting a reply pretty soon here. I'll post the results as soon as we get it. We also faxed to get fiances records from the FBI so that way if it comes back with no records, then we have something to work with. Good luck.

Well, we received a response, and it says that the name check is still pending and has been pending since march of 2003. Yikes! Hopefully, it will finish soon, until then I will keep calling the FBI until it does.
