I am under H1B and I am in I-140 stage now, someone has implied that if I get I-140
approved in employer A, it's beneficial to my continuing process if i H1B-transfer to employer B. that's not what i have thought of. can anyone help interpret this implication? or broadly, any techniques that can help save GC process time while change employer (for H1B holders). Thanks! Jef |
The ONLY advantage A's I-140 provides is that you can continue to use A's priority date
even with B. That works both for quota purposes, and to qualify for things like 245(i). Other than that, B has to start over from scratch, as if A's I-140 never existed.
