alien number problem

My husband and I currently live outside the US but will be doing a dcf soon. I am doing some homework and realized: we don't have any documentation of his alien number even though he has been in/out of the US on work visas which I thought had alien numbers associated with them..... B1/2 issue # XXXXXX issued London 9/17/84. There is also a visa class H1, issued London, 30 Jun3 1991. Then there is a Petitioner name XXXXX petition number WACXXXXXXX issued 14 Sep 92, visa type R Class H1B. I had thought originally that the WACXXXXXX would have been the alien number, but it doesn't 'look' right (I understand that the alien numbers had to be an A plus 9 digits (XXX-XXX-XXX) sometimes looking like 8 becuase the first is a zero. Were alien numbers only instituted recently? Is there reason to think that maybe he just doesn't have one? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= *** Usenet.com - The #1 Usenet Newsgroup Service on The Planet! *** http://www.usenet.com Unlimited Download - 19 Seperate Servers - 90,000 groups - Uncensored -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= |

BTW, that visitor's visa is no longer valid even if it does say its valid indefinately. You can't always trust the government. |
