My hunny and I are applying for his AOS here in the US but he needs to go back to Ireland in the end of August, he's bestman at his brother's wedding. That's a little over three months away...here's the problem...we live in NYC and the wait time for a AP is 5 months!!!! Does anyone know of anything we can do to speed up the process time or any other way to figure this out? Thanks. -Melissa

You can try and contact a Congressperson, or you can try and plead with
the office in NYC. They are known to grant A/P faster in emergencies,
which are usually narrowly defined. The most typical one is a funeral.
You'll have to go and see if they are willing to consider the wedding an
emergency, too.
Unfortunately, the bad news is that friends of mine had been entirely
unable to get AP throughout the whole I-485 process in the New York
office; this was a few years ago. NY may have improved and started issuing
A/P.
