Hi, I really don't know what to do. I can't understand why the rules are so strict. I
want to apply for advance parole to go back to my country, Italy, next summer. I
applied for permanent residence and I'm still waiting for an answer. Which is a
"serious" reason that I can use in order for the advance parole to be obtained? Which
documents should I submit to demonstrate that the reason is valid? Thank you for your
help, Sasha

You don't need a serious reason. See http://www.visalaw.com/95may/8may.html,

You don't need any. Simply write on Form I-131, Part 7, in the blank space, "I
wish to travel to Italy to visit my family." That's it. You do not need a separate
sheet of paper.
