There is always the possibility on any immigration issue of issues not being disclosed, he mentioned he worked, could have been as a drug dealer, no waiver.

So what do you do, say discuss everything with an immigration lawyer as a default?

Implied they had worked, paid taxes.

I had viewed OP’s post as being from a “she.” I now see that it could’ve been a “he.” If dad never married the mother, this would raise the question of whether or not the daughter is a daughter for immigration purposes.

In light of of the hit and run nature of he inquiry, it is impossible to really answer OP’s question other than see an attorney.
