Default Is 6 month validity on passport required if have green card?

I am travelling to the UK in August and my passport expires in February. I have a green card. Will I need to renew my passport before leaving the US for the UK?
Thanks

Assuming you're a UK citizen and you're talking about a UK passport, no. You can enter the UK with a passport that expires on the day you arrive, and all you need to get back to the US is your green card.

Sorry, yes my passport is UK. So, my passport doesn't have to have at least six months left on it to return to the USA if I have my green card?
thanks

You may need your passport for entry to the UK You do NOT need it for entry to the USA .

No... but if you have the time to do it in the UK, you should. It's far less expensive (and quite a bit faster) than renewing it when you're in the US.
