Default 221g letter

Hey all

Just left my visa interview and unfortunately got presented with a 221g letter, the interviewer said the application was all but approved but additional documents were required and I’d get an email in relation to it, the interviewer couldn’t confirm what the issues were, now I’m worried about the visa being declined for whatever reason, does anyone have any experience or this?

L visa application from the UK to the US

Sounds like a simple RFE for something that should have been in the packet but wasn't. Although by definition if you got an RFE your application is not, in fact, 'all approved'

Got to love the way these people talk

"All but approved" is somewhat different from "All approved", although the message for the OP is still positive.

Agreed, sounds like it will be a simple request for something needed to complete the file, or even something that was already in the file but that they lost or overlooked.

You do see those additional questions, basically an enhanced security check, not sure how common they are asked in London.

basically nothing to do but wait.

It's only been 13 days since their confirmation of receipt. I don't think you can speed up an RFE. If you want to make an inquiry, I'd say use the embassy "contact us" page. But if give it a couple of months at least. I agree that this sounds like additional security checks which could take a while.
