Default 221 g number not on list been 7 weeks

Hello my friends:
i read the comments regarding 221 g and see how depressing is it for people: the common issue is " we hope they tell us how long? so we can plan"
we went to London embassy on 30-sept-11 and upuntil yesterday my reference number doesnt even show up on their list:

even if it says pending, we get the idea but nothing. has this happened to anybody? how long does it take before your number appears on the list? if it did not come up same day...

pls share your experiences:
thanks

You need to know that the online update thingy isn't very reliable. Sometimes info appears within a few days... sometimes, it never shows up. As an example, my I-485 application showed as "pending" for the longest time... so long, in fact, that I had been a USC for 5 years before it finally showed "approved".

This is one reason, IMHO, that the online system should never be used. It's unreliable and, as a result, leads to major anxiety issues.

This happened to us in 2005. It was about an 8 week process during which we could find out nothing. It was horrible. We did get visas in end though but the delay was costly and stressful.
