lol do it now, you might not be able to afford a re-colour once you're paying rent and mortgage :) Actually, I jest, it isn't 'too' bad, we're just a lot stricter with money!! Have updated the blog, as we now have a slab! Yayyyyy

How exciting! Apparently we have rock just above the level we need to excavate to so that will be a big unknown cost....... And our interest only payments started today on the land so we are boracic!

We are now in a rush to get to contract then the fun will really begin.

Definitely think it's wine time for you!

Ah goodness the horrible R word :( don't worry tho we were told we had rock, turned out to be soft enough for the diggers to get through so no cost to us! Fingers crossed for you lovely! Whatever they say for rock removal costs, just double it just in case! We're sorting out flooring today, I want hardwood floors but its very pricey. I might just have to suck it up and pay for it :(

Have you thought of bamboo? Cheaper than hardwood and much harder. I got mine from Krakatoa Bamboo in Brisbane. It is great - not one mark on it even with a large boxer racing around on it. Website: www.krakatoa.com.au

oh no! Well we moved into this rental in August and we've just received a letter to say they want us out by the 27th Feb as lease is up. I called and asked them could we extend it to a month by month, and she said 'no' - so we'll be on the lookout for very short term accommodation!!! House is due for completion march/april. Bummer :(

Oh no, that's worse than us. Hope you get somewhere. We've managed to negotiate a 10 month lease as we won't start building til Feb and we reckon it'll realistically take about 7 months......

We are having to overlap the dates too so losing more money........ah well. IT WILL BE WORTH IT IN THE END!!!
