Re: Over 3 Years and still in Scotland
Had viewer's last night. They have sold their own house, they have to be out of it next week, woman is 6 months pregnant, they have a baby 1 year old, they have seen 2 house purchases fall through and are looking for a VERY quick entry date, they liked our house, they have their funds in place and we tick all their boxes (according to them)!
So maybe later on today we might hear something

Well then, the 1st viewers have just left our house today in what was their 2nd viewing and have indicated verbally that they want to buy our house (no official / legal offer yet as it is Sunday) but they need to sell their own which went on the market this week and a similar one in their area sold in 2 weeks! They are happy with our house and happy with the price (fixed price) so without counting our chickens it looks promising.
The 2nd viewers came out on friday night and were similarly impressed with both house and price so tomorrow (Monday) could be a significant day if only to get the feedback from our estate agent.
If anything the last few days have touched on how much of a wrench it will be to leave our house in which we have spent a very happy 14 years, however, a house is only a house if its a home and our home has always been a happy home. It does seem strange to think that someone else will eventually move into 'our home' although we will have the memories forever!
Hopefully we will be posting 'SOLD' soon!

Estate Agent has just rung to tell us that the above couple have been on to them to say that their house has sold and to ask if they made an offer on ours could we give them an entry date for late June / early July!
And just like 'The Man from Del Monte' we said 'YES'!
So for a legal offer and everything going well should be Down Under this summer!

We let them wander about the house on their own and Stella and I sat outside on the deck freezing for what seemed like an eternity, however, if it gets the job done then so be it! The pressure is on now to organise shippers, get rid of a lot of tools and equipment that I've decided not to ship, arrange flights, rental etc , all the things that you have already done so you'll know what we're going through at the moment! With things being slow we've just kinda gone with the flow but now the heat is on and you just think 'Well This Is It'
We'll keep you all posted.

Looks like it Gill! They were back over last night and were arranging a survey today, they are looking for an entry date of 17th July (only 7 weeks away) and were measuring up rooms etc so that they can get furniture ordered. They are an elderly couple and although things are not done and dusted legally, given that that was their 3rd visit it is looking more than positive

No last minute hitches John, we hope. Ah bet the glass was full of mad dog coz thats aw yous huns drink.
We were taking ours off the market but the guy that tried to sell ours has resigned coz he couldny sell nought and the principal has taken it on board. He reckons gie him a month so we'll see but he's no charging us coz o the cock-up wi the other guy. So we could still be on the move to higher ground.
Ps. We just gave you the league so we could get rid o that wee useless ba***rd Strachan. Enjoy coz we'll huv it back next year.
