I haven't been on here for a while but thought i would share my news,as of 9th October me and my family are now officially Aussies. Took the test paid my money recieved my Certificate and plant at our ceremony with a few other people and i am now looking forward to vote...................

I just feel this underlines my commitment to my new life and becoming an aussie. Here is where my new life begins.

Well Done & Congratulations! Bet it's a load off your mind finally having it all done & dusted. So do you actually 'feel' like an Australian as such?
I mean - I've lived in the UK for the last 11 years & people still detect my accent (which isn't a bad thing - as it sparks up conversations!) but I guess due to living in big bad London, I still don't really feel British..... as much as I've enjoyed being here till recently ;)

Congratulations on becoming a citizen. We had our ceremony last Australia Day and I do now consider ourselves Australian. In fact now when people say 'where are you from?' I never know if they mean originally or where we live now? lol
