Re: 'A little less DAUNTED in Oz!'
Today is our 4th Anniversary and I did think it would perhaps be a natural place to close up this thread - but I've just read through it and can't bring myself to say goodbye to it Wonder if I can print it all off somehow for a little keepsake
Anyway we are still here. Aussie citizens and very very proud to be so! Australia has been everything and more than we had wished for. I have never worked so hard in my life and I doubt I will ever have that Kombi and drive around Australia which I so often dream of - I'm gonna be working until I'm at least 110 cos my super is worth bugger all and I didn't have a UK pension to bring with me. Had hoped I would fall head over heals in love with a rich aussie farmer and live happy ever after but I don't think that is gonna happen so going to concentrate on making as much money as possible whilst I can - then i may be able to retire at 95 instead! My youngest finishes high school next year and then I intend to go do FIFO - hopefully as a Safety Advisor (Im half way through the course) but if that fails I will keep my Chefs whites on and do what I know best - cook!
My daughter is starting Uni in Feb, a degree in Social work - don't think she will ever be out of work hey!
My eldest (you will know he is currently in UK if you have been following this thread) will be over here with his partner early next year - he is joining WAPOL Having all the kids in one country will be the icing on a great big creamy cake
Well that's it really - life here is now just daily living and we LOVE IT!

Was a damn sight easier than visa process lol. applied online - easy form. waited for test date - again straight forward (get the book off immi website) then a very emotional ceremony :-) and you know what? it DOES feel different - feel fab and proud x

Reckon it's time to start thinking about moving north to Perth. Never thought I would hear myself say that but am really beginning to find career options down here more than a little limited. Youngest son finishes school Oct 2012. Daughter will be in Uni here but she is happy to look at transferring. As much as I love Australia and cannot imagine living anywhere else I feel I have committed professional suicide New beginnings beckon............
